Interested to have vacation trip with backpackers style? Backpacking is an economical vacation alternative and promising an exciting of adventure.

To have successful backpackers vacation are always supported by adequate equipment and supplies. Backpackers who already experience certainly know how to choose the equipment and what is important to carry on. But who don't have any experience may be confused, mostly who are not have any experience bring the useless equipment.
Remember..! chose equipment must be careful because that's what determines comfort or even safety of a backpacker.

Well here are some tips specifically for backpackers who want to try or a beginner, we will give some tips to make you do not wrong to buy the right backpacking gears.

Tip # 1
First thing first. If you want to buy equipment, buy the first primary needs such as backpacks (no backpack no  successful trip), sleeping bag, appropriate clothing with the destination conditions, emergency tents, hiking boots, stove and bb, matches, compass or GPS, and first aid kit.

Other items such as portable radios and camping chairs, truly make the trip more cool but it's not the major needed. Without those things we still survive right?. So, first thing first. You can choose others complete primary needs by yourself. Create a checklist so there is no good that maybe forgetfulness.

Tip # 2
Prioritize & Select wisely
. Do not buy just because it is cheap. The true backpackers know exactly if the equipment
would really able to function optimally. A good quality equipment usually more expensive, but if buying a cheap equipment it may be broken too fast so it is just the same, perhaps even more wasteful because it must be replaced. Sometime buying cheap equipment can make sense of annoyance or panic because the goods are suddenly not functioning when needed.

Tip # 3
Bring compact & multifunctional items. For backpackers, there are three important conditions

for an item to be considered; performance, durability, and weight. Expenses that are not too heavy enable us to walk further and faster. It indeed takes foresight and experience. The more often we are backpacking, the better our ability to judge.

Tip # 4
Anticipate yet be efficient..
For example if just going hiking during the day alone, do not need to bring too much food and tents. But if you want to go in the forest or the edge of the mountain until a few days will definitely need to bring full equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, and clothing to withstand cold weather.

**More tips
because we will have trip use backpack so as much as possible we have to bring enough stuff but so essential need and also specially created for traveling indeed.

Really important to bring:
1) backpack + the raincoat(if rain suddenly then the goods inside the bag will stay safety)
2) travel towel (it is travel towel which made with microfiber material, it is so thin, compact and easy to bring for everywhere because it is not weight and no need wide space, plus easy to dry but also have power to easily absorbed water)3) pans specially for travelers which made from material that is easily washed and dried quickly (a lot in store of traveling gear, there are some short-long reply)
4. if want to go for long travelling, don't bring too much clothes, avoid to bring jeans
5. bring sling bags to carry small essential goods that often be needed ie: passport, wallet, camera, mobile phones, etc. So yodon't need to be mess when need them.

Accommodation options

Although most backpackers choose to stay in hostels, there are plenty of other possibilities to spend the night. You could try camping (i.e. in a tent), staying in a hotel, boarding with a family in a private house, sleeping on the beach, etc. This article discusses all your accommodation options while you're on the road.

Hotels

The main differences between hostels and hotels are that hostels usually have dormitory-style sleeping arrangements and are usually cheaper, while hotels offer private rooms, often provide a bigger bed and are usually cleaner than hostels. Obviously, the more you pay for a hotel room, the better it will be (for the most part), but then this is true for hostels as well.
The hotel type of accommodation is usually above a backpacker's budget, and they're not quite the kinds of places a backpacker's looking for to spend his or her night's rest in. Nevertheless, if you're in desperate need of a bed and a shower and there's nothing else available, they're always an option.
That said, there are exceptions in some cities (or areas of a city) where a hotel is a better value than a hostel. It may be cleaner and safer than a hostel, and may be located in a better part of the city. As well, paying for a hotel room may provide you with an opportunity to sleep more people in the room (ie. on the floor), thus lowering your price-per-person ratio.
Consider hotels if you get the chance and feel it is affordable. As in most travel experiences, check around before settling on a place to stay for the night.

Bed and Breakfasts (B&Bs)

Contrary to what many travelers might think, many B&B's also offer affordable accommodations. They can often be found in some of the most amazing locations. More comfortable than a hostel, and often with more amenities, a true bed & breakfast is a home situated in a residential area with the emphasis being on hospitality in a family setting. The homes may vary in design from heritage homes to modern bungalows. Guests are greeted at the door, provided overnight accommodations which often include breakfast.
Rest, relaxation and interesting breakfast conversation is usually the norm with fellow travelers and hosts who can supply information on local attractions, amenities and are genuinely interested in providing an enjoyable experience for their guests. Guests want to stay in B&B's for their uniqueness, quiet relaxation and the desire to meet fellow travelers and share experiences. It is not unusual for friendships to develop among guests from all parts of the world.

Hostels

Hostels are available in every larger city. They provide a bed -and usually breakfast too- for a reasonable price. Sheets and blankets are often included. You'll be sleeping in dorms (several people in one room), probably on a bunk bed. Toilets and showers are shared. Sometimes there's a kitchen available so you can make your own cheap meals. Backpackers area bound in these places, which makes them great to get in contact with other backpackers.
Especially in peak season, it is a good idea to book your next hostel from your present one, essentially creating a chain of places to stay as you move about. The easiest way to do this is to make reservations online. Thanks to the internet, making reservations in advance is a matter of minutes, and it'll save you a lot of hassle to find a place that's not fully booked. Booking hostels online requires a credit card with which you'll pay an up-front deposit of 10 percent.

Camping

Campings are not very expensive, and if the climate allows it, it's a great way of exploring the country. Complete freedom... You'll need a mattress, a sleeping bag and a tent (but not necessarily). A stove to cook your own meals on can come in handy too. The easiest way to find a campsite is through a guidebook, a detailed roadmap or the local Tourist Information Center.

SAFETY AWARNESS!
Travel experts say backpackers should take a few basic safety precautions:

Stay in touch
"Make sure you keep in touch with your family. Try not to walk alone at night.
"Don't carry lots of money around.
"Leave valuables in a safety deposit box at your hostel and just take out what you need."
Carrying a mobile phone could be a "double-edged sword" because it could make you a target for a robbery.

It’s been recognized that young people might not always fully appreciate the risks of travelling, given that the gap year had become almost a rite-of-passage.
"You are encouraged to be adventurous and travel.
"Everyone is doing it and you think 'it won't happen to me'.
"Travelling is no longer considered to be particularly brave or daring,"

Plan ahead
Young travelers to be informed about a country before they set off on their trip, backpackers and independent travelers could check out their website which gives updates on the latest situations in countries as well as general safety advice.
Young people were not only at risk from crime when travelling but also of being accused of a crime, such as drugs smuggling or possession.
There are young people who have never been away from Europe before and don't realize the severity of sentences overseas.
"They think that they can take a bit of dope from Australia to Thailand, but they could end up on death row before they know it."

Travel insurance
Take out travel insurance before they set off.
One in five independent travelers sometimes go abroad without taking out insurance, according to a MORI poll carried out last year.
Nearly half of those who had had problems while abroad admitted they could have been better prepared, this survey for the Foreign Office found.
The most common problems experienced were falling ill (13%), missing flights (9%), being robbed/ a victim of a personal crime (both 6%).
Younger travelers were twice as likely to get ill (27%) get hurt (14%) or become caught up in a civil disturbance (13% against a 5% average).

But the message from the travel experts for young people was not to be put off travelling.
"Most people do travel safely and come back with fantastic memories of their trip,"

Top 10 Fishing Vacation Destinations

Number 10 - Phuket, Thailand
While you can find many scuba diving boats in Phuket to see the wonders lying below the surface Phuket sport fishing is still gaining recognition but there are plenty of fish like trevally, jacks, sea bass, barracuda and other species waiting to be caught.
While I have never done this you can try your luck catching the largest species of catfish in the world, the Mekong Catfish, using a fishing guide or charter.
If you're tired of all the fun fishing or scuba diving provides then enjoy the night life of Phuket and trust me you will. There are great resorts all around but you can also rent some gorgeous vacation rentals by owner for just as much money and get more house for your vacation.
The island is served by Phuket International Airport located on the island.

Number 9 - Limón and Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Once you get to the end of my top ten you will realize I love Costa Rica fishing and really the country in general. The "rich coast" has some of the best sport fishing worldwide and they understand that the fishing industry needs to be protected.
Limón is a province of located in the eastern part of the country on the Atlantic Ocean. It borders from the south the country of Panama and the province Puntarenas. The capital city is Limon. You have a wide range of choices of species to target off the eastern province on the Caribbean. Your charter captain will probably target Jack Crevalle, Snook, Mackerel, Dorado, Tarpon, and Tripletail.
Puntarenas is located in the western part of Costa Rica covering most of the Pacific Coast. It borders on the provinces Limon, Guanacaste, San Jose, Alajuela and borders Panama. The charter a boat captain on the western coast of Puntarenas, and find Roosterfish, Tuna Dorado, Snook and Wahoo.

Number 8 - Venice Louisiana
Both the coastal and offshore waters have so many natural gas platforms it provides the waters with great cover for the big fish. The Mississippi River has created the bountiful Mississippi Canyon which has very deep waters close to the coast. I will go out on a limb here and say you can't catch more or bigger fish anywhere within the U.S. than off the coast of Louisiana.

You should charter a boat in Louisiana for big Yellow Fin Tuna, Wahoo, Blue Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Big Sharks very soon or your doing yourself a disservice. Whether you're looking for a guide for redfish in the marshes of Louisiana or an off shore boat captain in search of the perfect fish Louisiana offers has it all waiting for you.

Number 7 - British Columbia
With 6,000 coastal islands and islets and 12,000 miles of water habitat in British Columbia a myriad of game fish await you including Pacific salmon, giant halibut, rockfish, and an enormous collection of shellfish. British Columbia has over 24,000 pristine lakes and rivers to keep the freshwater anglers happy. British Columbia has nearly two dozen species of freshwater sportfish, including the much large Rainbow Trout. Find the perfect fishing guide or charter boat for the best BC fishing experience possible.

Number 6 - Alaska
Alaska's oceans, lakes and rivers are packed with record breaking Salmon, Rainbow Trout, beautiful Arctic Char, barn door Halibut and many other sport fish. Fish all 5regions to get a taste of every kind of Alaska fishing possible.
Whether you are fishing off the coast on a charter boat for that monster Halibut we all have seen in pictures or find a Alaska fishing guide and fly fish one of the many rivers full of salmon a fishing vacation in Alaska is a must do. While I have not done this as of today I have had many people tell me that Alaska fishing is some of the best in the world. I look forward to the day I can charter a boat in Alaska and have my own picture with a world record halibut.

Number 5 - Boca Grande Florida
I have always wanted to catch that 200 pound tarpon and the place to do it is Boca Grande Florida. There are multiple tarpon charter captains that can help you maneuver through the masses so you to can land that monster tarpon. Boca Grande Pass is the tarpon fishing capital of the world. The tarpon gather in such large numbers to feed it is impossible not to catch a monster tarpon with the right fishing guide. If you get lucky maybe you will see one of the many great hammerhead sharks that try to steal your catch. It is a site to be seen. Use a reputable charter boat to ensure you get the best Charlotte Harbor fishing experience possible.
Boca Grande is located on the west coast of Florida at the mouth of Charlotte Harbor.

Number 4 - Marsh Harbor, Bahamas (Abaco)
This one is unique to me because you can go out and spend all day on some of the most beautiful yacht charters in the world to land that monster marlin, bull dolphin or Wahoo and then right before sunset you can go spear fishing for a nice snapper or two on a scuba diving charter.
Marsh Harbor is a quaint town with very nice shops, restaurants and hotels to choose from or you can pick a great vacation rental by owner from many websites. If your spear fishing for some hog nose or rooster tail be cautious of the reef sharks. I found them to like the snapper as much as I did. I love Marsh Harbor fishing experience and you will too.

Number 3 - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Looking to land a bull Dolphin, Wahoo, Yellowfin, while hunting down the largest Marlin around? Then look no further than Cabo San Lucas Mexico where you can find some of the best yacht charters in the world to take you on a fishing trip you will never forget. Catch and release helps keep the Cabo waters full of large Marlin so come on down and find the perfect deep sea charter for you.

Number 2 - Islamorada, Florida
Just a couple of miles from Key Largo you will find the hot bed of Florida fishing in a little key called Islamorada. Right next to Holiday Isle you will find a fleet of Islamorada charter boats waiting for you. While you will catch multiple species of fish throughout the year you can land monster Mahi, Wahoo and occasionally a nice Yellowfin or two. I highly recommend fishing Islamorada if you get a chance. Then spend a little while having a beverage of choice while the boat is parked on a sand bar about a mile off the coast. Islamorada sport fishing is a great life experience you should try.

Number 1 - Quepos, Costa Rica
While I'm sure people will disagree with my number one choice for fishing vacations I have never had as much fun fishing as I did off the coast of Quepos Costa Rica. Quepos is a small city situated on the central Pacific coast. It is directly south of San Jose approximately a 3 hour drive by car or hop a 30 minute flight and land in the fields of Quepos. Quepos has a few nice restaurants, lounges, and moderately priced hotels or try a vacation rental in Manuel Antonio. It also has a post office, bank, pharmacy, a small medical clinic, several hardware stores, a bakery and numerous grocery stores and specialty shops. You can rent a car from Hertz located just inside the city limits.
The harbor in Quepos Costa Rica is lined with some of the best fishing charters and yacht charters in the country and I personally think the area is one of the best places in the world to catch that monster sailfish you have always dreamed of. The great thing about the boat charters in Quepos (really all of Costa Rica) is they practice catch and release and really work on releasing the fish without harm to ensure a great fishing experience. I would highly recommend Quepos to novices and experts alike. Quepos, Costa Rica has long held an international reputation as one of the hottest spots in the world for big game fish. Costa Rica offers first class boat charters for sailfish, Marlin , Roosters, Tuna, Dorados and many other species.

Underground Mosque- Central Java

During the mid-18th century, the Sultanate of Yogyakarta began work on Taman Sari Water Castle. Comprised of lavish gardens and pools, Taman Sari also featured a bizarre man-made sea, connected beneath the ground with underwater tunnels and small island buildings. One of these island structures was used as a mosque, and was only accessible by underwater passage.
The tiny mosque was only one story, and although basic, had all the necessary parts of a mosque including a mihrab, or small niche guiding worshippers toward Mecca. It also featured a series of staircases leading from the underwater entrances resembling MC Escher's relativity. Staircases lead up from five different doorways to a central platform and another staircase connects the five lower staircases to a higher doorway.
Brimming with mystery, the plain mosque is only one of the wonders of the entire Taman Sari Water Castle complex. Today, many of the remains of the great 17th century compound have been lost. Pools have been filled in, which allowed for the discovery of many of the underground structures, but have destroyed the pristine castle quality. Human settlements have taken the place of the man-made lake, and much of the other buildings left standing are worse for wear. In 1995, the entire complex was listed as a tentative World Heritage Site.

Tana Toraja

Tana Toraja is one of the famous tourist attractions in Indonesia, located in selatan.distance from sulawesi province about 350 kilometers north of provincial capital city makasar south sulawesi.
To get to Tana Toraja district can be reached by overland travel about 7 hours or 45 minutes by a small aircraft that serve routes makasar – Tana Toraja, but unfortunately the flight was only once a week.
The name originally given by the Toraja Bugis Bugis Sidendreng and Luwu. Sidendreng people call this area the population with the title To Riaja, which means “those who dwell in the land above or mountains”. It Tana Toraja is located approximately 300-600 meters above sea level.
Some interesting things from Tana Toraja :
The traditional house called Tongkonan.

tongkonan is a building shaped like the Chinese empire boat roof made of nipa or palm leaves and can survive up to 50 years. Tongkonan a suitable degree of aristocratic strata of society, knife scratches on the red board shows the status of its owner. Rows of buffalo horns mounted / hung in front of the house, also add to the uniqueness of the wood structure. Unique building form with carving can be found in almost every yard of this Toraja community. Tongkonan word comes from tongkon, which means sit. In the past this house is the center of government, customs authority, and the development of socio-cultural life of Toraja people. so that the first house can not be owned by individuals but by family heredity or tribal clan of Tana Toraja.

Death ceremony in Tana Toraja.

In Tana Toraja has a tradition of respect for the death of the call ‘Rambu Solo’.
For Tana Toraja society, people who have died not by itself a degree of the dead. For them before the ceremony Rambu Solo then the dead person was only regarded as a sick man. Because of its status is still ‘sick’, then the man who died had to be admitted and treated like people who are still alive, like with her, providing food, beverages and tobacco or betel.
Rambu Solo ‘is an event very festive tradition in Tana Toraja, because eating days to celebrate. The ceremony is usually held during the day, when the sun began leaning to the west and usually takes 2-3 days. Even up to two weeks for this nobility .
ceremony circles for each community group must differ. When the nobleman who died, then the number of buffalo that will be cut for the purpose of the event was far more than for those who are not royal. For the royal family, the number of buffalo may range from 24 to 100 water buffaloes. While middle-class residents are required to slaughtering buffalos 8 plus 50 pigs, and long ceremony about 3 days.
Her own grave is made at the top of the cliff at the height of the rock because, according to the trust Aluk Dolo (Tana Toraja people’s confidence was higher where the body was placed, so the sooner his soul to paradise).
But, before the amount was insufficient, the body should not be buried on cliffs or in high places. Hence, the body often stored for years in Tongkonan family until the late / deceased can prepare the sacrificial animals. and for the adherents of Christianity and Islam, the corpse can be buried in the ground first, then dug up again after the family is ready to perform this ceremony.
Baby graves in the tree.

Baby graves in the Tarra trees  designated for baby 0-7 year-old.
Although babies buried in a tree that Tarra was not implemented since the last decades, the tree where “save” the baby’s body was still upright and often visited by tourists.
Tarra on the tree trunk with a circle of about 3.5 meters, saved dozens of dead babies. Before the body is inserted into the trunks of trees, first hollowed tree trunk. Dead baby is placed inside, then covered with coconut tree fiber black.
After decades, the baby’s body will be merged with the tree. This is an appeal to the traveler and to Tana Toraja people still regard the place as sacred as the newborn child. Placement baby’s body on the tree, adapted to the social strata of society.
The higher the degree of the family’s socio higher infant lies buried in the trunk of the tree Tarra.
In addition, babies who die are placed in the direction where the bereaved family lived. If the house is in the western part of the tree, then the child’s body will be placed in the west.

DARING TOURS ON HAUNTED PLACES..???

Jakarta
  • Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital – A place full of ghost stories. One particularly popular one would be the one about a doctor with a surgical knife and hands full of blood or a nurse who always warns the doctors if there’s an emergency patients. There are also the spirits of dead people floating around in the hospital. They usually they wander at night and show their form to someone who’s alone.
  • Jakarta History Museum – This place was used by the Dutch Colonials as a city hall whereas the main court was used to hang a number of Chinese people. In the night a few ghosts can be seen there. The prison was believed to be haunted by number of ghosts. Perhaps due to the historical horrors, there’s a strange feeling when you enter the building
  • Jembatan Ancol – Legend has it that a young woman was rapped at the Jembatan Ancol or Ancol bridge. After that, she was then murdered. Until this day people have said to see her walking around at night.
  • Jeruk Purut Cemetery – Legend has it that once there was a priest or pastor that died here with his head cut off. The real reason why he died with his head off was unknown but this priest is always accompanied by his dog wherever he goes.
  • Tarumanagara University – On the 13th Floor are the photocopy facilities. People that work there admitted that every noon about 18.00 they can see a head flying around without his head. Cause of death is unknown but it seems that his/her soul can’t rest in peace yet because of, perhaps, unfinished business.
  • University of Pancasila – A particular lift there would mysteriously bring u to the 4th floor although you did not press the button to the 4th floor.
Semarang
  • Lawang Sewu – Lawang Sewu means a thousand doors. This is a building with thousand doors was with the Netherlands Architecture, left by the Netherlands colonialism in 19th century. If you go inside this old building, you will be abke to see many kind of ghosts. For example, ghost with no head, a Holland young lady killed herself and hang in the door, screams, and so on. A good suggestio would be if you could come see the building for yourself. However, be careful of getting lost because this building has 1000 doors.
